Grievance procedure

Complaints about non-compliance with Senate policy on smoking should be made, in confidence if necessary, to the Head of Department or Section who may consult the Associate Director of Occupational Health and Safety for advice.

In the event of non-resolution, the problem should be referred to the relevant Executive Dean and, if necessary, to the Secretary and Registrar or Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor.  In cases where a student or a staff member requests that their identity be treated as confidential, the University of Queensland Union, the relevant Union or Staff Association may act on their behalf.

Staff and students are reminded that copies of this brochure and other smoking awareness publicity materials may be obtained from the Occupational Health and Safety Unit.
