It would be sufficient to go to Antarctica just to watch the infinite variety of ice forms. Probably the most popular pastime is "taking a Zodiac tour".....exploring the icebergs from an inflatable dinghy.

Our best "Zodiac Tour" was near the Argentinian base, "Prima Vera", where we indeed had a springtime day, with the sun appearing on occasions.

The ice is advancing fast into this bay, and we were startled by the a"crack" as the ice broke off, followed by a deep "whoosh"  as it hit the water.  Needless to say, our wait with cameras ready was not rewarded by a repeat performance that morning.
