 Animal (PG)

What does Post Graduate study in Animal Studies involve?

This large and diverse area involves caring for, and working with, recreational animals, such as dogs and horses, as well as farm animals, such as cattle, sheep, pigs, poultry, emus and deer. The field also includes the biological study of Australia's unique wildlife.

Animal production accounts for about half of all rural activity in Australia, and a major part of Australia's total export revenue is earned through the sale of animals and their products. In addition, racing and recreational activities involving animals are multimillion-dollar industries.

To retain Australia's favoured market position as a major 'clean and green' producer of food, it is imperative that we have highly trained people constantly entering the industry.
