Overview
The primary role of the University of Queensland Vocational Education Centre (G-VEC) is to undertake the training development, delivery, and assessment of rural vocational qualifications delivered by the University and related fields within the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector.
The G-VEC issues the Vocational outcomes aligned to the internal ‘Certificate’ and the ‘Rural Skills’ units within the Universities Certificate, Degree and Diploma programs.
The G-VEC is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) Number (1511) located within the University’s Faculty of Natural Resources, Agriculture and Veterinary Science (NRAVS).
The unit is registered to deliver 27 qualifications ranging from Certificate Level I to Advanced Diploma within three training packages consisting of;
- RTD02 Conservation and Land Management
- RTE03 Rural Production
- RTF03 Amenity Horticulture.
Mission Statement
The mission of the VEC is to achieve State and National recognition for excellence in training and assessment programs leading to awards in rural and related vocational training within the Vocational Educational and Training Sector (VET).
