CTLC - Collaborative Teaching and Learning Centres

Queensland University currently has 2 Collaborative Teaching and Learning Centres, with a third coming into operation in late 2008. The first of the operational CTLCs is located within the Sir James Foots building on the St Lucia Campus while the second is located on at the Gatton Campus. The new CLC to be opened shortly is within the GPN4 building on the St Lucia Campus and includes modifications to the design based on the two previous centres.

The collaborative centres recognise that learning is not restricted to the traditional lecture. As a social process, collaboration occurs in a range of spaces, both physical and virtual.
Launched in mid-2005, the St Lucia CTLC comprises a series of innovative formal and informal teaching and learning spaces equipped with state-of-the art technology. It is a completely new type of learning environment, neither a lecture theatre, nor a seminar room, nor a computer laboratory, although it has some elements of each.
