Alan Calder has taught in universities and colleges in Australia and Canada and has a background in science, media, learning support and teaching development.  Within the Teaching and Learning Development 

program at James Cook University (Cairns), Alan’s responsibilities include ongoing research into the ways support staff, student peers and academic staff can collaborate within integrated environments and 

assist students to achieve their academic goals.
