UQ hosts China-Australia University Summit on Teaching and Learning

Senior academics from China Nine and Australia’s Group of Eight universities will gather at The University of Queensland today (November 27) for the fourth China-Australia University Summit on Teaching and Learning.

The summit’s agenda includes discussion of how research-intensive universities can use technology to optimise the educational experience and better teach Chinese students in the digital age.

Tools such as massive open online courses (MOOCs) are giving students greater flexibility and more personalised education than ever before.

Summit delegates will also discuss how Group of Eight and China Nine universities can work together to enhance respective teaching and learning programs and further strengthen China-Australia relations.

53 per cent of Chinese university students in Australia are studying at a Group of Eight university.

UQ has student exchange agreements with all China Nine universities, and has more than 6500 Chinese students currently enrolled.
