Organisers of the 2012 Annual Photography Competition at The University of Queensland's School of Political Science and International Studies are delighted to have secured sponsorship for a first prize to the value of $1000.

Norac Information and Technology Management have donated a Canon EOS1100D digital SLR camera to the winner of the photography category of this year’s competition.

"This is a tremendous contribution," said Head of School Professor Gillian Whitehouse.

"We have been impressed by the consistently high standard of entries over the years, and it’s wonderful that organisations outside the university have also recognised the value of this competition," she said.

The School is also delighted to have secured the support of Artland, Indooroopilly, who will frame the shortlisted photographs for a significantly reduced fee.

This amateur competition is open to students, staff and alumni of UQ. For further details and entry forms please visit the website http://www.polsis.uq.edu.au/photography-competition

Entries close on September 14, 2012.

The 2012 awards will be held on October 24, 2012 in the Innes Room in the Student Union between 4 – 6pm and will feature an exhibition of the shortlisted photographs, viewing areas for the shortlisted film entries and a selection of photographic entries from previous years.

This will be an RSVP event and details will be released closer to the event.
