 Smoking

  • UQ's policy and procedures on smoking aim to minimise the harmful effects of passive smoking and its related discomfort to others. In this way, a safe and healthy working environment can be created consistent with the high standards of care for staff and students the University embraces.

  • University policy and procedures are set out in detail in section 8 (Tobacco Smoking Policy Guidelines and Procedures) of the Alcohol, Tobacco Smoking and other Drugs policy in the Handbook of University Policy and Procedures (Policy Number: 2.30.17)

Please note: Smoking is prohibited in all University buildings

Please read the relevant policy documents in full. If discrepancies are found to exist between this information and the official policy, the policy will prevail.
