 Removal of financial liability

Students enrolled in courses who withdraw after a study period census date remain financially liable for Student Contribution Amounts, HECS-HELP, FEE-HELP or tuition fees in that study period.

If you withdraw due to special circumstances (for example, on medical grounds) you can apply to remove your financial liability.

Students seeking remission must:

  1. Read the Removal of financial liability due to special circumstances - procedures (Link to UQ Policy and Procedures Library),

and if you meet the eligibility criteria

  2. Complete a Removal of financial liability due to special circumstances (pdf: 63KB) application form.

Student Help on Campus (SHOC) advocates have experience assisting students with the processes mentioned above. They can advise students about how best to prepare their applications. Bookings can be made via their website.
