For Commonwealth supported students commencing in 2008, the maximum student contribution for courses (subjects) in accounting, administration, economics and commerce increased from the previous Band 2 ($7,260) to Band 3 ($8,499).
However, if you are considered a pre-2008 Commonwealth supported student, you will not be liable for these increased contributions. (Note that these transitional arrangements will only remain in place until the end of 2012).
To be considered a pre-2008 Commonwealth supported student, you must have been enrolled as a Commonwealth supported student in an award program, which is not yet completed or discontinued, which commenced after 2004 and prior to 2008, and you are not a pre-2005 student in 2008.
You are also a pre-2008 student if you belong to one of the following categories, and you are not a pre-2005 student:
- Honours students
If you were admitted to an honours program as a Commonwealth supported student having commenced the related pass degree after 2004 and prior to 2008.
