 Personal safety

The University's UniSafe program encourages people to help make the campus safer for everyone by:

  • steering clear of risky situations and
  • reporting suspicious behaviour, no matter how minor, to Security.

Stay safe on campus after dark by walking with friends and keeping to well-lit, well-used, Security-patrolled paths.

At night on the St Lucia campus or at UQ Gatton and UQ Ipswich, you can ask a UniSafe Escort to walk with you to public transport or your car (telephone Security on (07) 3365 1234 or freecall 1800 800 123). Alternatively, a free Safety Bus operates on the St Lucia campus (timetables available from student centres or Security).

If you're in trouble on the St Lucia campus, use an Emergency Call Point for an immediate response from Security. At UQ Gatton and UQ Ipswich, use a Security Call Point to speak directly to Security.

Click here more information on the services that UQ Security provide.
