 Personal advice

If you are experiencing personal or emotional difficulties and need to talk to a professional counsellor, personal counsellors at Student Services can offer you confidential counselling.

Alternatively, if you feel your concerns don’t warrant professional counselling help, but you would still like to talk to someone, you may like to chat with a UQ Union Welfare Officer . For instance, if you are facing problems with flatmates, finances, Austudy, social security, accommodation or anything else that may impact upon your University life, Welfare Area staff are available to help you identify your options and make the best choices.

Chaplains in the UQ Chaplaincy Service are also available to support students and staff with a range of needs in personal, family or spiritual life, including loneliness, anxiety, mental health, crisis, grief, friendship and cults/manipulative religious groups.
