 Right to Information and Information Privacy


What is UQ's Right to Information ?
 

  • The University is subject to the Right to Information Act 2009 and the Information Privacy Act 2009 which gives you the right to access University-held documents unless access is contrary to the public interest.
     
  • The Information Privacy Act 2009 also gives you the right to ensure that information in University files concerning your personal affairs is accurate and complete.
     
  • UQ's Right to Information Policy and Information Privacy Management Policy is set out in full in the Policy and Procedures Library.


How to access information
 

  • In some cases, information access requests do not have to be made formally through the Acts.
     
  • For example, you can access your examination performance records and peruse your own examination scripts by approaching the particular course co-ordinator.
     
  • In addition, an administrative access scheme has been approved enabling you to inspect your own files under supervision.
     
  • To access files or make general inquiries, contact the Right to Information and Privacy Coordinator
