What is UQ's Freedom of Information (FOI) policy?
- The University is subject to the Queensland Freedom of Information Act 1992 which gives you the right to access University-held documents with some specific and limited exceptions.
- The Act also gives you the right to ensure that information in University files concerning your personal affairs is accurate and complete.
- UQ's Freedom of Information Management Policy is set out in full in the Handbook of University Policies and Procedures (Policy Number: 1.60.1).
How to access information
- In some cases, information access requests do not have to made formally through the Act.
- For example, you can access your examination performance records and peruse your own examination scripts by approaching the particular course co-ordinator.
- In addition, special arrangements have been approved enabling you to inspect your own files under supervision.
