Dean's Commendations for High Achievement are awarded to recognise students enrolled in undergraduate, postgraduate coursework, study abroad programs and incoming exchange programs who have excelled academically.
A noting indicating the award of a Dean's Commendation is made on both the recipient's Studies Report and official Academic Transcript. A letter of congratulations may also be sent by the faculty (and in the case of Incoming Study Abroad and Incoming Exchange Students, from the Dean of Students)
Dean's Commendations are awarded using the following criteria:
- minimum semester GPA of 6;
- based on full-time or full-time equivalent loads; and
- issued after semester 1 and semester 2, except where not practicable
(ie year long courses).
Students eligible for a Dean's Commendation do not need to apply for the award. They will be identified automatically using the above criteria.
