Academic advising
Our faculty has a team of administrative officers who provide expert information on a wide range of matters. We provide very helpful online resources and information accessible from the Faculty of Arts undergraduate program microsites – please see individual links below.

Please see the Arts web page for details of the advising services available.

Dual degrees
Many dual programs are available with Faculty of Arts programs and dual degree plans are available online. Special care is required when choosing courses to meet the requirements of the two degrees and therefore you are strongly advised to attend an enrolment seminar during Orientation week prior to the beginning of the semester.

  • Domestic Undergraduate students should visit this page for application procedures for changing to a dual degree program.
  • International students wishing to change to a dual program should contact the faculty for advice.

Supplementary examinations
Supplementary examinations are available to students enrolled in programs administered by the Faculty of Arts under certain provisions. Please check General Award Rule 1A.17. You will find a link to the General Award Rules on the University Rules page. Once you have accessed that page, scroll down to Part 1A - Assessment.

Interruption to studies
Once you have secured a place in the BA, the BCreatArts or the BIntSt programs, you may interrupt your studies as often as necessary over a 10-year period without having to make an application. To secure your place you must successfully complete at least one course during the calendar year of study of the year of offer.

Bachelor of Music students and those undertaking Honours in any field must seek permission to interrupt their studies from their Head of School in the first instance.

Academic Progression: Show cause application
You can apply to show cause why your enrolment should not be cancelled under the Enrolment and Academic Progression Rules. Further information on academic standing and application procedures are outlined here on this website.   You will find a link to the Enrolment and Academic Progression Rules on the University Rules page.
