All new students who accept an offer of a place at the University of Queensland will receive an Enrolment guide.

All applicants who have made an official application to study at The University of Queensland will receive written notification of the outcome of their application.
Definitions
To help you, below are definitions of some of these terms used at UQ, taken from the UQ terminology explained pages:
- Domestic student
A student who is an Australian citizen, a New Zealand citizen or a permanent resident. - International student
A student who is not an Australian citizen or permanent resident, nor a New Zealand citizen, and is enrolled or proposes to enrol at an institution in Australia. Temporary residents of Australia are also classified as international students. - Bachelor degree program (also known as an undergraduate degree program)
A qualification awarded for the first level of study undertaken at a university, typically involving three to four years of study. - Postgraduate programs
Studies normally undertaken after the completion of an undergraduate degree, or in some cases, on the basis of relevant work experience. Postgraduate programs include graduate certificates, graduate diplomas, masters and doctorates. - Master of Philosophy (MPhil)
Postgraduate research higher degree program undertaken over a period of 1-2years The program includes a research component involving at least two-thirds of the work for the degree. Entry usually requires an honours degree or equivalent. - Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
Postgraduate research award program usually undertaken over a period of 3 to 4 years. The program includes research thesis involving at least two-thirds of the work for the degree. Entry requires a bachelor degree with a minimum of honours class IIA or equivalent.
