Scholarships and financial assistance

There is some financial assistance available to students:
 

  • The Higher Education Loan Program (HELP).  A suite of loans funded by the Commonwealth Government for Australian citizens and holders of a permanent humanitarian visa.
     
  • The University provides a number of scholarships and prizes as well as financial assistance mechanisms to support your education.
     
  • The Federal Government provides allowances for students who fulfill certain criteria, offering schemes in the form of Youth Allowance, Study Assistance, AUSTUDY and ABSTUDY.
     
  • Extra financial support is available to International AusAid scholarship holders.
     
  • Some banks provide student loans and the UQ Union also offer loans in special circumstances.
