The competition was held in the Nickson Room, UQ School of Music, on Thursday 13th of October 2011 at 1:00pm
About the prize
The Sid Page Memorial Prize, maintained by 4MBS Classic FM and Musica Viva is awarded to a chamber ensemble that gives the most outstanding performance of 2 pieces from contrasting periods and styles. Each program must be of 20 to 40 minutes in duration and must be approved by the Head of School. Ensembles are to have no more than 8 university students. The competition is held in semester 2 each year and is judged by an advisory panel appointed by the Head of School.
The prize was established in memory of the late Sidney B. Page, who was Deputy Librarian of this University from 1966 to 1972; a member of the Music Faculty Board from 1971 until his death in 1987; and a founding member of the Music Broadcasting Society of Queensland Ltd.
