Associarte Professor Felicity BakerThe School of Music congratulates Associate Professor Felicity Baker on her successful application for an ARC Fellowship. Associate Professor Baker has been awarded an ARC Future Fellowship of over $600 000 over the next five years for her research project: 

What's in the music? A lifespan model of emotional and musical creativity in therapeutic song writing 

The study examines the health benefits of original song composition for people with varying debilitating health conditions and those adjusting to injury, trauma or pending death. 

Future Fellowships promote research in areas of critical national importance by giving outstanding researchers incentives to conduct their research in Australia. The aim of Future Fellowships is to provide opportunities to attract and retain the best and brightest mid-career researchers in Australia.

Felicity is the Program Convenor for the Master of Music Therapy program, and Director of Research at the School of Music.
