PhD UQ, BA (Hons) UQ

Peter Freeman is an Associate Lecturer with ongoing interests in the music of Brazilian composer Antônio Carlos Jobim, jazz, music technology and popular music. He holds a PhD from The University of Queenslandand, lectures in popular music and music technology, and is the coordinator for the Bachelor of Arts Major in Popular Music. He has recorded many CD albums for local and interstate artists and is active in the preservation of Queensland's jazz heritage, acting as secretary for the Queensland Jazz Archive Inc. He is also bass player, arranger and coordinator for the Tropical Dance Orchestra, manager of the UQ BIG BAND and an on-call bass player for many local jazz groups.
