UQ Chorale is a large and exciting choral ensemble open to all students at the university. It is open as a HECS course to:

1. students from any faculty who wish to supplement their degree with a Diploma in Music Performance (for which participation in an ensemble will soon be the only requirement for four year degree students)
2. students from any faculty who might use UQ Chorale as one of the electives available in their course
3. students enrolled as a CAP student

Assessment is based on attendance and participation.

In addition, it is open without any HECS responsibility to:

1. Students studying a degree in Music (recommended for all such students, and compulsory for vocal, keyboard and guitar majors)
2. Any students enrolled in a subject for which UQ Chorale is a requirement or is recommended. Check the ECPs of your proposed course plan. Such subjects include all the Aural Studies courses, Group Music Skills, Conducting A (compulsory) and B (recommended), Music Therapy and others.

How to apply:

New members need to book an audition by contacting Graeme Morton (g.morton@uq.edu.au) to arrange a time for Thursday 23rd February. The audition will take about 10 minutes. You will be asked to sing a short unaccompanied piece of your choice, and have a short interview. Enrolment into the course will follow this audition.

Continuing members need to inform Graeme Morton (g.morton@uq.edu.au) of their intention to return, and if for you it is a HECS course as part of your degree or diploma please send a “Permission to Enrol” form to the School of Music office. Please note clearly on the form that you are a returning member.
