Moreton Bay Research Station can accommodate a total of 96 people in a variety of accommodation styles from bunk rooms to a fully furnished self-contained house and cabin. Floor plans are available to help you plan your accommodation requirements (ground floor, first floor). Internet connections are available in all rooms.
Researchers and other visitors in small groups may prefer the comfort, separation and privacy offered by the Researcher House and Cabin. Located on the waterfront and directly across the street from the research station, the Researcher House and Cabin are both fully self-contained. The on-site bunk rooms are ideal for large groups.
This four bedroom, three bathroom house sleeps 9 or 10 with one queen bed and 4 bunks. There is a fully-equipped kitchen, portable barbeque, comfortable lounge and dining area. Additional dining space is available on the covered balcony which faces the water providing a wonderful vantage point for observing the local wildlife and the spectacular sunsets.
Located behind the Researcher House is the one bedroom, one bathroom cabin which sleeps 4 (2 bunks) and has well-equipped kitchen facilities.
Our onsite bunk rooms are ideal for educational and other large groups. Each room sleeps 8 in 4 bunks and has close access to the shared toilet and shower facilities. Quad rooms (2 bunk - 4 bed) can be adapted as single, twin or triple rooms according to group requirements. Each quad room has a desk and shares an ensuite bathroom with the adjoining room. A specialised twin room with lift access and private ensuite is available onsite for clients with disabilities or special needs.

All bedding and linen (sheets, pillowcases, quilts and pillows) is provided and included in accommodation costs. Towels and bath mats can be supplied for a small additional fee. A coin operated washer and dryer is also available on Station.
Small groups (<10) may self-cater using either the house or cabin kitchens or the on-site upstairs researcher's kitchen and lounge. All larger groups are required to utilise the on-site catering service which operates from a certified commercial kitchen at the Research Station. See the Catering page.
