BSc (Hons), PhD
Research Associate
Rob has collaborated with Janet on dugong studies since 1998. He has extensive experience in collecting field data on marine mammals in different parts of the world. Janet and Rob first met in Hawaii in 1985 on a humpback whale research project. His PhD on population genetics of southern elephant seals was conducted at UQ. More recently Rob spends his time drinking coffee, reading the paper, and doing far too much as secretary of his local surf club. On the dugong project, his main roles are boat driving, dugong catching, offering dubious advice on dugong genetic studies, and Kilkenny drinking.
