Directions to UQ Ipswich
By Car
The Ipswich campus is located at 11 Salisbury Road, near the intersection of Salisbury and Warwick roads, on Map 233 D1 of the UBD Brisbane "Refidex" Street Directory. There are a number of ways to get to the Ipswich Campus from Brisbane and the western suburbs.
a) Follow the Ipswich Motorway and continue along Ipswich Road into the Ipswich Central Business District (Ipswich Road becomes Limestone Street upon arrival at the CBD). Turn left at the intersection of Gordon and Limestone Streets and follow the signs along Warwick Road to the Ipswich Campus. Entry to the Campus is via the roundabout (Ipswich Show Grounds on left hand side).
b) Follow the Centenary Highway through Springfield. Take the Yamanto exit and turn right onto Warwick Road, towards the Ipswich CBD. Follow Warwick Road and turn left into the Campus via Salisbury Road at the roundabout (Ipswich Show Grounds on left hand side).
c) Travel along the Ipswich Motorway and continue onto the Cunningham Highway. Exit at the Swanbank exit and cross back over the highway, follow South Station Road, left into Robertson Road, left into Chermside Road, then right into Salisbury Road and straight ahead through the roundabout to the Campus (Ipswich Show Grounds on left hand side).
All day parking is available at the Ipswich Campus for $1.00 per day in Casual Parking Zones.
By Inter-campus Bus
The University of Queensland offers UQ staff and UQ students an intercampus bus service which runs between the St Lucia, Gatton and Ipswich campuses. The service does not operate on public or University holidays and has a reduced service during the semester vacation period. By Train
Trains from Brisbane Central to Ipswich run every 30 minutes, and a bus service connects the station and the campus. There are also bus-rail coordinated services to and from Toogoolawah and Rosewood stations. An integrated ticketing system has been established to assist students and staff. By Bicycle
The Ipswich campus is just 1.5 km from the Ipswich Central Business District, so it is an easy ride on roads which were recently improved to increase cycling safety and convenience. You can leave your bicycle in a locker at the train station overnight, and there are secure bicycle parking facilities on campus.
