Phonological Awareness as an approach for teaching literacy skills

This workshop will deliver background information on the theory and latest findings related to best practice teaching of literacy in the school population.

*Identifying Phonological Awareness difficulties in the classroom

*Development of our literacy programs

*Overview of the aim of our literacy programs

*In-depth analysis and school implementation of our literacy programs:

Early Literacy Foundations (ELF) and Phonological Awareness for Literacy (PAL)

 

 

Notes:  The ELF and PAL programmes are based on the research evidence within the fields of Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy and Neuroscience, the findings of which support the teaching of phonological awareness (explicit teaching of vowels and consonants and the linguistic rules that govern them), and rapid automatic naming for memory retrieval within a framework of clinical teaching methodologies, together with educational pedagogies.
