Team Members

The literacy for life symbol uses 3 entwined circular strokes to represent the complementary nature of, and harmony between, the three strands of our work

Research, Education and Service

Research:

Team members are involved in research projects evaluating the validity of assessments associated with the programs, as well as the outcomes of the programs.   At present we have a number of research projects underway, in the fields of Phonological Awareness, Sound Field Amplification and Literacy Development.  To read articles by both current and past members, please click here.

Education:

Team members are involved in the education and training of undergraduate and postgraduate speech pathology and occupational therapy students at the University of Queensland, as well as training health and education professionals in the Australasian region.

Service:

The literacy for life team are involved in providing clinical services through the University of Queensland's School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences' Community Clinics, as well as collaborating with community organisations to enhance literacy outcomes for at-risk populations. A further strand of our service has been the development of our literacy programs (ELF, PAL, PATHS), spanning preschool to highschool. These programs are the result of collaboration between speech pathology, occupational therapy and teaching and are designed to be delivered by educational staff in the school environments.
