The new executive of the Alumni Association of Ipswich was elected at the Association's annual general meeting in May 2006.
The Executive is:
PRESIDENT: John Cornick
John Cornick graduated from The University of Queensland Ipswich campus in 2005 with a Bachelor of Electronic Commerce majoring in accounting. Currently he is finishing off his Bachelor of Law at the St Lucia campus and working in the Tax and Legal Solutions area at PricewaterhouseCoopers. John has been widely involved with UQI over his 5 years at the campus this has included his position as CEO and vice-president of the UQ Students In Free Enterprise team, Treasurer of the Financial Management Association of Australia, PASS leader and Tutor for ACCT1101, ACCT2101 and ECON1010. Through these roles and more John has built up a number of quality skills which will be integral to the strengthening of the UQI Alumni.
VICE-PRESIDENT: Rishen Shekhar
Rishen graduated from UQ with a Bachelor of Business Management (Human Resource Management and Industrial Relation) in July 2004. He is currently working as an Employment Consultant with The Salvation Army Employment Plus and is also the After Hours Manager at Unilink Village Apartments in Ipswich. Rishen's provides the committee with an international students perspective having arrived in Australia in 2002 as one himself. His current area's of interest are in career coaching and development, interview skills and presentation as well as staff training and development. Rishen is also a qualified Workplace Assessor and Trainer.
