IT CROSS CAMPUS SUPPORT
Under the Campus service level agreement with ITS, support will be provided to Ipswich staff with Campus supplied equipment working at either the St Lucia or Gatton Campuses. To receive this support:
- Call the ITS Help Desk on ext 54329 or ext 56000.
- Identify yourself as an Ipswich staff member.
- Advise the Help Desk which campus you are at, your contact details and a preferred time for assistance if you require on-site support.
- Outline the details of your problem to the Help Desk
SIFE STUDENTS NEED YOUR TEXTBOOKS
The SIFE (Students In Free Enterprise) second-hand bookshop is seeking any textbooks you no longer require for resale through their second-hand bookshop a the Ipswich Campus. Funds raised from the sale of the textbooks are directed towards SIFE’s efforts in working with the Ipswich community. If you have any old textbooks which you would like to donate to the bookshop please email s4098411@student.uq.edu.au
CARPARK FIVE NOW OPEN
Carpark No. 5 has been closed for surfacing and upgrading over the break period. It is now ready and open for use. Please note this is a part of the pay and display parking system and there is a voucher machine situated in the carpark.
2007 EVACUATION NOTICE
Please refer to the attached notice for your information on Evacuation of Buildings and the UQ Non smoking policy.
In the event of an emergency, including a fire alarm, academic staff in charge of a class, seminar, or other meeting shall take control of the group and shall instruct students and visitors to respond to the appropriate emergency sounds.
On hearing the ALERT TONE prepare to evacuate.
On hearing the EVACUATION TONE, all building occupants shall leave the building via the nearest marked fire exit and proceed to the nearest signed Emergency Assembly point.
During the evacuation of the building the Chief Building Warden has total authority.
Each building is fitted with an automatic fire management system that will ring for 3 minutes on the ALERT TONE and then automatically switch to the EVACUATION TONE, which will continue to ring till the Fire Brigade has responded and advised it is safe to return to the building.
BUSINESS OBJECTS TRAINING AT IPSWICH
MIS has scheduled BusinessObjects training courses to be held at the Ipswich campus on Wednesday 7 March 2007, as follows:
- BusinessObjects Basic from 10am to 1pm (Library, room ezone 1)
- BusinessObjects Intermediate from 2pm to 5pm (Library, room ezone 3)
- BusinessObjects Financial Reporting from 2pm to 5pm (Library, room ezone 1)
BusinessObjects is the reporting software used at UQ for the extraction and analysis of data from multiple sources, eg student data from SI-net, financial data from Masterpiece, staff data from Aurion (and many others). For further detail about the courses, please visit the MIS website or contact MIS User Support on x52595.
Places are limited, and you will be required to register via the TEDI website. These courses form part of the Staff Development Program at UQ. Sessions are run regularly at the St Lucia campus if you cannot attend on 7 March.
UQ GREEN OFFICE INFORMATION SESSION
UQ’s Environmental Services, Property & Facilities Division invites staff to a Green Office Program Information Session on Tuesday, 24 April. The session will be held in the Seminar Room, Level 3, Building 8 at 10am. See attached for further information including rsvp details.
TILING REPAIRS IN BUILDING 12
Please note work has commenced on repairing the toilets in Building 12. Initially, toilets on levels 1 and 3 will be affected and will reopen on or before Friday, 23 February. After this time, the toilets on Level 2 will be closed for repair, requiring them to be closed for the first three weeks of semester.

The Ipswich Campus’ 2007 Scholarship and Prizes Award Ceremony will be held at the Campus on Thursday, 26 April. Please note, applications for scholarships are now open and close on Friday, 23 March. NEW STAFF MEMBER IN ITS CLIENT SERVICE OFFICER POSITION
Welcome back to Shannan Bilicki (previously with the Student Centre) who will join the ITS team from Wednesday, 21 February in the role of acting ITS Client Service Officer.
The ITS Client Service office (Rm 308 Building 12, ext 11230) will be open from 10am – 2pm Monday to Friday.
IPSWICH SECURITY OFFICE - LUNCH BREAK
Over the past year security personnel at Ipswich have found it increasingly difficult to have their lunch meal without being disturbed with minor problems, all emergencies must be responded to immediately but minor problems should wait until after lunch breaks are complete.
In an attempt to make security staff lunch breaks as uninterrupted as possible security intends implementing a set meal time for Ipswich security personnel, this meal break will be from 11.30am -12.10pm daily.
This lunch time procedure is to take effect from Monday 26 February 2007.
