The University of Queensland Ipswich Campus takes pride in providing a world-class education facility with strong community links. An integral part of these links has been in gaining local community and UQ support and sponsorship for "community space" on the Campus.
The Boilerhouse facility was refurbished by the University in 2006 with support from Ipswich City Council, Wingate Properties and Bendigo Bank. It now houses the UQ Boilerhouse Community Engagement Centre. The refurbishment also included designated space to be used for community groups to come together to meet and engage in a variety of community activities on the Campus.
The community spaces are not intended to be used for commercial purposes. If you are unsure whether this applies to your organisation, please contact the Campus to discuss your concerns. There are other rooms on Campus available on a hire basis for commercial use.
