“The wonderful aspects of studying medicine at the UQ Ipswich Campus are the small class size and the close association with staff members and fellow students, which enhances the student experience. UQ Ipswich Campus has allowed me to feel welcomed as a student and afforded me the opportunity to be part of some pioneering ideas that are definitely rare in larger campuses. All the services on campus, like the Library, are very useful – especially the friendly course-specific librarians, always willing to guide you along to ensure you do not feel lost!”

“The best aspects about studying at the UQ Ipswich Campus are the efficient services, a quiet and beautiful environment, and the opportunity to interact with the local residents. You can easily access services such as the student support centre, the IT services, and the academic or international student advisors. The staff always offer detailed information, and serve you patiently. The Ipswich Campus Library is a beautiful building with an enclosed garden and plenty of computer equipment with internet access. You can also enjoy a coffee in the corner of the library. The greenery surrounding the campus creates a sense of freedom and a feeling of mental respite and restoration.

“If you would like to attend academic seminars and/or student activities at other UQ campuses, the intercampus bus services can take you directly. The Ipswich city library and shopping centre are just around the corner. The library offers English courses and support for minority groups, which is especially great for international students – providing further opportunities to experience Australian culture, and enjoy a fulfilling life studying at UQ.”

“There are so many advantages of attending the Ipswich Campus, especially in relation to my disability. All the staff and students are friendly and approachable. Ipswich is a small campus compared with others, which means smaller distances between lecture rooms. This is easier for me and allows students and staff members to make better connections. All these features play very important roles in my ability to attend University. Especially the Disability Services, Library staff, and Student Services. I am so thankful for their constant understanding, reliability and friendly support.

“UQ Ipswich has enabled me to overcome the challenges of studying with a disability, which I am so grateful for.”
