Rare plants and animals - Ipswich Campus

UQ Ipswich is one of the only University Campuses in Australia visited by wild Koalas (Phascolarctos cinereus). The Campus gardens are managed to sustain this population with recent plantings of hundreds of new trees for koala food and habitat.
Especially rare plants are also feature in the campus gardens, including the Cooneana Olive (Notelaea ipsviciensis), the Wollemi Pine (Wollemia nobilis) and the Gymea Lily (Doryanthese excelsa).
