UQ Ipswich has a wide range of Information Technology and Audio Visual facilities for UQ students, staff, organisational units and the wider community. Information Technology Services (ITS) maintain the campus computer infrastructure, administer student internet access and delivers essential UQ databases, software and systems. The UQ Library provides further IT support to students.

For Students - Ask I.T.

UQ Ipswich provides students with many options to access information technology. Those with their own laptops can access UQ resources and the Internet using the EduRoam wireless network.

The campus also provides enough computers in the Library and computer labs that students seldom need to wait for one to become available.

In addition, an assisted technology computer featuring Dragon Dictate and ZoomText is available in the Library.

The Ask I.T. Help Desk is the one stop location to support students in their use of IT for University work.

The Ask I.T. team are professional and friendly Help Desk officers who are highly competent in providing support for wireless connectivity and software applications on both the Windows and Macintosh operating systems.

Audio-Visual Support for Teaching Spaces

UQ Ipswich provides teaching spaces and computer labs equipped to allow audio-visual presentations.

UQ staff and students are able to give presentations by using the existing lectern computers or in some rooms connecting their laptops.

Some rooms allow the use of Smart Boards and video conferencing.

The ITS Audio-Visual team provide staff and students rapid AV support during classes.

The team also provides a large range of products and services, including equipment training, the hiring of microphones and the recording of lectures. Please call for a consultation.

UQ Ipswich provides staff with a wide range of desktop and laptop computers, printers and other IT equipment to assist their work. Staff are also provided with secure server storage and back-up facilities

Access to these resources are controlled via authorised ITS forms.

Information Technology Services provides day-to-day IT support for this equipment. They can also provide assistance with planning for future IT requirements.

UQconnect

The Ipswich office of UQconnect provides on and off-campus internet access to UQ staff, students and members of the public. UQconnect can assist with password, quota and billing issues.

UQconnect also sells a small range of computer products including staff and student versions of Microsoft software, USB sticks and international phone cards.
