Having trouble logging in?

  • If you have just received a new password ensure you have changed your password as explained below
  • Passwords are case sensitive: ensure 'Caps Lock' is not on
  • Ensure you are using a lower case 's' in your username
  • Ensure there are no spaces in front of your username or password
  • Ensure there are no more than 3 capitals in your password
  • Your password must be between 8 and 10 characters long
How do I change my password?

You can change your password at any time. You may also need to do this so that you can login to Ipswich Campus computers (UQ domain).


How do I enter my Security ID?

To ensure secure use of your internet account we ask you to provide us with a Security ID. This will be registered against your account so that you can be easily identified by Help Desk staff when making account enquiries or requesting a new password.


Saving documents from campus computers 
  • Do not save documents you wish to keep on the C drive. This will be erased if the computer is restarted.
  • Do not rely on floppy disks for data transportation/storage.
  • USB memory sticks can now be purchased from UQconnect.
  • Please use your H drive and/or CD writing facilities.
  • If your computer at home is not running the same version of software as this campus, try saving your documents in 'Rich Text Format' (rtf).

Unable to access external web sites from Ipswich Campus
  • Ensure you are currently enrolled
  • You may have exceeded your download quota
  • If you are under 18 you may need to provide a signed 'Under 18 permission form'
  • There may be a problem with that particular site. Try another site to confirm and/or try the site again later


Can I redirect my email?

You can redirect your email at any time while your UQ student account is active.


How do I access my H drive from home?

How much download quota do I have?

150MB per month (refreshed on the 1st day of each month). You can manage your download quota and check the balance by signing in to the login web site.  Please remember to logout at the end of each session at https://login.uq.edu.au to ensure that no else uses your quota.


Can I purchase additional dialin download quota?

Yes, additional download quota can be purchased for UQ student internet accounts .

100MB - $3.50
350MB - $5.00
500mb - $7.00
1GB - $10.00

Free dialin CD

A free dialin access setup CD is available from all ITS Service Centres. This CD will configure your computer to dialin using your UQ internet account.  You can also find guides on Dial-up access on the UQconnect Help Page
