CONFERENCE FACILITIES & VENUES

High-tech facilities make UQ Ipswich the perfect venue for conferences, corporate seminars and events. Room availability depends on teaching requirements.  The University welcomes all students, staff; business organisations; local community groups; and student groups associated with the University; interested in utilising the teaching facilities at St Lucia, Ipswich and Gatton campuses. 

The UQ Boilerhouse community space and the Ipswich Activity Centre are also available for use by members of the public and community groups. The UQ Union's Campus Cafe at Ipswich is also available for hire for various events and activities, with its large function space and covered outdoor verandah with sweeping views to the Great Dividing Range. The UQ Union catering department is also able to provide catering services in combination with hire of this function space.


CATERING
The UQ Union Ipswich catering department also offers exceptionally good value and quality catering for a range of external casual and formal events, including seminars, barbecues, cocktail functions and sit down dinners. HEALTH & FITNESS

UQ SPORT Ipswich Wellness & Activity Centre is open to UQ students, saff and the general community. Located in Building 10, the Centre is equipped with cardio equipment, Swiss balls and a range of free weights and machines. Fully supervised by qualified staff, UQ SPORT Ipswich offers FREE personal training and programs for members. Circuit classes that incorporate weights, cardio, abdominals and stretching are also available. The Centre also operates the Heart Moves program, which is open to the public and is an innovative exercise program ideally suited for people wishing to exercise at low to moderate intensity. The program is specifically designed to be safe and appropriate for people with or at risk of heart disease, including those who have had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, those who are sedentary and those with established heart disease. Each session will be conducted in a group format and will be taken by a heart moves accredited instructor.

LIBRARY

The UQ Library Cyberschool provides teachers and students in Queensland schools with access to quality electronic resources for effective teaching and learning. Cyberschool expands the range of resources available to all high schools. Online databases provide easy access to electronic versions of newspapers, scholarly journals and magazines in all subject areas.  Teacher librarians and teachers can view the list of databases available and are able to trial any database before deciding to subscribe. Apply to the UQL Cyberschool coordinators through your teacher librarian for trial passwords and access periods, for any of the databases listed.
