 Campus partners with local providers

UQ Ipswich joined with educational and training providers in the Ipswich region last month to officially launch the Ipswich Region Education and Training Cluster Inc and its "The Green Corner" website.

Branded as The Green Corner, the Cluster is an educational network that brings together major schools, vocational training providers and universities in the Ipswich area to profile the region to both national and international markets as an ideal environment to undertake quality education and training.

Chairman of the Cluster, Professor Trevor Grigg, The University of Queensland Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International & Development), said The Green Corner initiative built on a long and successful tradition of education in the Ipswich Region.

"The Green Corner branding of the cluster emphasizes the importance of not only the quality of the educational programs on offer but also the attributes of the area in which students will study and live," Professor Grigg said.

"The Cluster will provide economic, social and cultural benefits for all involved."

Supported by Ipswich City Council and the Department of State Development (Innovation), The Green Corner membership includes Ipswich Girls' Grammar School, West Moreton Anglican College, St Edmund's College, St Mary's College, Forest Lake International College, Union Institute of Languages, The Bremer Institute of TAFE, Top Office Personnel, The University of Queensland's Ipswich Campus and The University of Queensland's Institute of Continuing and TESOL Education.
