(Established in 2001 and maintained by an annual gift of $5000 from the Bendigo Bank to encourage undergraduate study in Business at The University of Queensland Ipswich Campus)
1. The scholarship is awarded annually the Ipswich Campus on recommendation of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic)
2. To assist in the selection process, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic) must establish a selection committee comprising the PVC Academic (who shall chair the selection committee) or nominee, an Ipswich Campus representative and at least one representative from Bendigo Bank
3. The scholarship is open to students who:
(a) are domestic students as defined in the Fee Rules; and
(b) are enrolled full-time; and
(c) intend to enter the second year of the Bachelor of Business at the Ipswich Campus, in the year of the award.
4. The scholarship is awarded, at the discretion of the selection committee, to the applicant showing the greatest merit, as demonstrated by:
(a) academic achievement during the first two semesters of the program; and
(b) personal qualities, including leadership potential, community involvement, career aspirations; and
(c) other evidence as may be deemed relevant to the professional success of the applicant
5. Applications must be lodged with, and by the date set by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor Academic at the Ipswich Campus
6. The scholarship is tenable for one year, subject to satisfactory academic progress and continued full-time enrolment in the Bachelor of Business at the Ipswich Campus. Satisfactory academic progress means attaining at GPA of at least 4 each semester
7. A recipient failing to maintain satisfactory academic progress may be required to show cause why the scholarship should not be cancelled
8. The scholarship cannot be held concurrently with another similar scholarship
9. The value of the scholarship is $5000
Applications, to the UQ Ipswich Marketing and Development Manager, 11 Salisbury Road, Ipswich, should be made in writing, along with a curriculum vitae which addresses the following:
· University of Queensland academic record
· Any special academic achievements or awards within studies at The University of Queensland or any other secondary tertiary institution
· Any other notable personal achievements including involvement in community, sporting and social activities
· Work experience
· Career ambitions
Application deadline is Friday, 3 April 2009.
i) The holder of the scholarship may be may be asked by Bendigo Bank to undertake representative duties as requested by Bendigo Bank, which may include attending functions and public speaking.
