Three researchers at The University of Queensland Ipswich Campus have been awarded the largest Apple University Developer Fund grant for 2006.
With three grants, The University of Queensland (UQ) has the equal highest national success rate.
Ian MacColl, Matthew Simpson and Jamie Madden from the School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering have been awarded $12,000 for hardware to build StickiesAV, integrating and extending Mac OS X and open-source tools to support distributed video annotations.
StickiesAV will be a web-based system hosted at UQ Ipswich for creating, maintaining and sharing annotated bookmarks on streamed multimedia content, such as video.
Nationally, UQ will receive 22% of the $97,000 allocation, with two other successful applications for teaching-related projects.
