Senior Executive Missions
In consultation with The University of Queensland (UQ) Senior Executive, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International) annually proposes a global program of Senior Executive Missions. These missions, led by a member of the UQ Senior Executive, are in support of and aligned with the UQ Global Strategy.
These missions are designed to:
- Showcase UQ as a globally connected university that strives for learning and research of international significance and excellence.
- Strengthen and deepen established relationships with key partners, including institutions, government and corporate partners
- Explore new strategic alliances with academia, research, government and industry
- Identify opportunities for staff and student mobility, and research collaboration
- Attract philanthropic support
- Engage with our international alumni and community through events such as the Global Leadership Series
- Gain insights into the higher education and research policies and priorities of governments, including international research and scholarship funding priorities
- Receive the latest insights from in country international education experts, including Australian government representatives
Input into mission programs by staff with academic and research links to the country/region being visited is strongly encouraged, and contributions to and participation in the missions is valued.
Mission programs are flexible and can be customised to suit the particular interests of the Faculties, Institutes and other areas of the University represented. Indeed, participation in only part of the mission is often the norm for many delegates.
Please email Expressions of Interest to participate in upcoming missions to Liz Simmonds, l.simmonds@uq.edu.au.
