How to apply
Students can apply to UQ through one of UQ’s authorised international education representatives or directly to the University using a hard-copy application form.
Applying to study at UQ varies depending on whether you are:
An international person not currently studying year 12 in Australia applying to:
- an undergraduate program
- a dual degree program
- a postgraduate coursework program
- a research higher degree program
- study abroad at UQ for one or two semesters
- come to UQ on student exchange
An international year 12 student currently studying in Australia applying to study:
Submitting an application
Students can apply to UQ:
- through one of UQ’s authorised international education representatives
- directly to the university by using a hard-copy application form
Credit transfer for previous study
Students who have completed previous tertiary study may apply for credit to the University of Queensland. View advanced standing for international students looking to study in the Faculty of
- Arts;
- Business, Economics and Law;
- Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology;
- Health Sciences;
- Natural Resources and Veterinary Sciences; and
- Science;
- Social and Behavioural Sciences.

It is strongly recommended that students applying to undergraduate and postgraduate programs submit their applications no later than:
