UQ foundation year provides a bridge between secondary (high school / year 12) studies and undergraduate study.
The University of Queensland’s Institute of Continuing & TESOL Education (ICTE-UQ) offers English language pathways to students who do not meet the English language proficiency requirements for entry into their chosen UQ degree program
English language training and support is designed to assist new international students who have not previously undertaken university study or whose first language is not English.

UQ offers a wide range of scholarships for international students but are limited and often merit based and competitive.
UQ participates in international financial aid, and assists students to apply for student loan programs offered by their home countries to cover study and other related expenses while enrolled as a full-time student in our programs.

The University provides academic support to International students at no additional charge.

Each semester, all new international students are encouraged to attend Academic and English support programs.
Student Services offers numerous workshops throughout the course of a year to assist students with aspects of their well-being (Personal, Disability & Welfare), learning outcomes (Learning Assistance), career and life goals (Careers).
