Academic and English Pathways
- UQ foundation year provides a bridge between secondary (high school / year 12) studies and undergraduate study.
- The University of Queensland’s Institute of Continuing & TESOL Education (ICTE-UQ) offers English language pathways to students who do not meet the English language proficiency requirements for entry into their chosen UQ degree program
- English language training and support is designed to assist new international students who have not previously undertaken university study or whose first language is not English.
Scholarships and financial aid
- UQ offers a wide range of scholarships for international students but are limited and often merit based and competitive.
- UQ participates in international financial aid, and assists students to apply for student loan programs offered by their home countries to cover study and other related expenses while enrolled as a full-time student in our programs.
Student Academic Support
The University provides academic support to International students at no additional charge.
- Each semester, all new international students are encouraged to attend Academic and English support programs.
- Student Services offers numerous workshops throughout the course of a year to assist students with aspects of their well-being (Personal, Disability & Welfare), learning outcomes (Learning Assistance), career and life goals (Careers).
