For entry into programs at The University of Queensland, applicants must meet both academic and English language proficiency requirements.

Applicants must also have:

  • Completed recognised upper secondary or equivalent Year 12 studies to the required standard. Please note a small number of programs have limited (quota) places available. In these instances the required standard is a minimum and a higher standard may be required to gain entry. To discover which programs are quota restricted, please click here.
  • Satisfied English language requirements. Please carefully check these requirements as a small number of programs require higher levels of English language proficiency.
  • Satisfied individual program requirements (i.e. specific subject prerequisites, audition or interview). Find out specific program requirements on the relevant program page on the Programs and Courses website.

Applicants are assessed on a case-by-case basis. Students meeting minimum entry requirements as outlined above will gain entry to the University's undergraduate programs, except for those which are quota limited.
