Expand your social life by joining one of the University's 150 clubs and societies.
Some of the UQ clubs and societies include:
- Academic-based groups such as the Pharmacy Students Association
- Personal interest groups such as Amnesty International
- International student societies such as the Hong Kong Student Association, Latin American Student Association and the Pakistani Students Association.

English Conversation Club
English Conversation Club is a free support service for UQ international student family members, visiting professors, international staff members and research fellows.
Sporting clubs
Join a sporting club to meet local students, make new friends and stay fit and healthy. Choose from over 30 clubs in a fantastic range of sports catering for the recreational participant through to the elite athlete.

Mates@UQ offer lots of fun events that help create a vibrant campus culture. Join now and enjoy live music, barbecues, dinners and movies or participate in the Language Exchange Program to improve your English conversational skills while you meet other students from Australian and around the world.
Membership is free to any UQ student.
