Enjoy a safe environment

To maintain student safety, UQ has created services such as the UniSafe program.  

UniSafe aims to maximise personal safety by providing students and staff with the following services at no cost: 

  • A safety bus service which operates after 6pm on the St Lucia campus all year, Monday to Friday (except Christmas-New Year and public holidays).
  • UniSafe escorts in all campuses to accompany you to public transport or to your car during darkness.
  • Emergency call points in all campuses for emergencies only. Pressing the button provides immediate communication with Security and activates an alarm which brings Security personnel to that location.

Cultural and religious diversity is highly valued at UQ, which works to create a positive and respectful environment. University policy condemns racism, prejudice or vilification on the bases of race, religion, sexuality or ethnicity.

Security is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
