Applying for one or two semesters at UQ
Are you applying to study for one or two semesters at UQ?
If you are an international student currently studying at an accredited overseas institution and would like to apply for an Exchange or Study Abroad Program, these are the steps you need to follow:
- Check your eligibility criteria
- Choose your courses
- Download and complete the International Student Application for Study Abroad or Exchange Program (PDF)
- Attached all required documentation
- Submit your application
UQ International Admissions reviews your application and, if you meet all the entry requirements, you will be sent an unconditional offer.
If there are outstanding conditions you may be sent a conditional offer. To satisfy these conditions the appropriate documentation must be returned to UQ’s Study Abroad and Exchange office.
To accept the Offer you must :
- meet any outstanding conditions
- review and sign the Declaration of Financial Capacity – SVP (Streamlined Visa Processing)
- return your acceptance pack.
- This includes the signed ARO and SVP Declaration (if required), along with the Study Abroad (if applicable) fee and Overseas Student Healthcare Cover (OSHC) payment. The acceptance pack needs to be sent to your UQ Study Abroad advisor, as identified in your Offer letter.
The University will process your acceptance and issue a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).
To apply for your visa, lodge your student visa application form with your CoE to the nearest Australian High Commission or Embassy.
If you have a package offer, both COEs need to be submitted to the nearest Australian High Commission or Embassy at the time of visa application.
