If you have completed Year 12 in Australia and have passed prerequisite courses but need to improve your rank, these are your options for gaining entry to a UQ program:

  • Accept a place in an alternative (ie less competitive) tertiary program (bachelor level) and complete at least one full-time year of study. Once you have completed one year of full-time tertiary study, a new entry rank will be calculated using your grade point average (GPA). This process of improving your entry score is called upgrading.
  • Attend the UQ foundation year, which provides a bridge between secondary (high school / year 12) studies and undergraduate study.
  • Repeat Year 12
