Alternative pathways to UQ for international students
If you have completed Year 12 in Australia and have passed prerequisite courses but need to improve your rank, these are your options for gaining entry to a UQ program:
- Accept a place in an alternative (ie less competitive) tertiary program (bachelor level) and complete at least one full-time year of study. Once you have completed one year of full-time tertiary study, a new entry rank will be calculated using your grade point average (GPA). This process of improving your entry score is called upgrading.
- Attend the UQ foundation year, which provides a bridge between secondary (high school / year 12) studies and undergraduate study.
- Repeat Year 12
