Before your first semester begins, it is a great idea to take the time to familiarise yourself with the academic expectations at UQ, your faculty, library and campus. You may also need time to adjust to the Australian accent and you may like to fine tune your English language skills.
Take proactive steps in maximising your success at UQ by following the suggestions below. Remember, if you have any questions or feel that you are not coping at any time, there are many friendly and helpful staff at UQ who will be happy to assist.

| Make use of professional supports at Student Services. The Learning Advisers, Personal Counsellors, Disability Advisers and International Student Advisers offer individual appointments and a range of workshops and seminars throughout the year |
