In some cases, free and reduced cost legal services may be available to international students on and off campus. There are several organisations listed below where you can access these services.

The UQ Union Legal Service provides services to all students at any UQ campus. An experienced solicitor can give advice in all areas of law. Students at Gatton and Ipswich campuses may also obtain telephone advice. Contact details are as follows:

At Legal Aid Queensland, information services are free and can be accessed by all people living in Queensland. Client Information Officers can help you to work out if your problem is legal, discuss your options and refer you to an appropriate agency if necessary. You may be referred to the UQ Union Legal Office.
The Legal Aid Queensland website has much useful information including self-help leaflets (for example on traffic accidents) and links to other community legal services.
