Free official academic record (transcript)
Graduating students are entitled to one free official academic transcript. It will be printed on special security paper and when photocopied, the word “copy” will appear prominently. You do not need to apply for your free official academic transcript. If you attend your graduation ceremony it will be presented to you along with your degree certificate. If you do not attend your graduation ceremony the transcript and your certificate will be sent via AIRMAIL to your mailing address recorded on mySI-net. Graduations endeavours to post certificates the week after each graduation ceremony but (especially in December) it may take longer for your certificate and transcript to be mailed to you.
Study Abroad and Exchange students are entitled to one free official academic transcript. More information
Applying for an Official Academic Record (Transcript)
If you need your official academic transcript sooner to prove to your sponsor or prospective employer that you have graduated, consider the following options:
- Apply for your own Official Academic Transcript. The application form is available at the Student Centre or online on the myAdvisor website. Each copy will cost $10. This can be prepared and ready to collect within 1 week of when the results are officially published on mySI-net. Or if you pay an extra $1.50, you can request for the transcript to be posted to your overseas address, to arrive in December/January or July/August (following your final semester). Or, if you need to leave before the transcript is ready to collect, you may nominate a friend to collect the Academic Transcript on your behalf (see the application form).
- You can apply for the Official Academic Transcript at any time, but be sure you TICK on the Request form that you ‘wish to delay your transcript to show this semester’s results’. Please note that the ‘award conferred’ wording will not appear on the academic transcript until, at the earliest, the day of the graduation ceremony.
- It is possible to get an official academic transcript on the same day, if you apply for it before 2 pm, and pay $20. However, only results posted up to that date will show on that academic record, so it is best to delay applying this way until after the final results have been published on mySI-net.
- After results are officially released and you have met degree requirements, Student Centre staff can prepare a letter for you to the effect that ‘you have completed degree requirements and will be graduating’.
